Vogue V9264, the perfect and easy party dress!

26/10/2021

Do you want to create  a comfortable but tight dress for the holidays?  Vogue Very Easy V9264 is an ideal sewing pattern. The dress is quite tight because of the high stretch content of the fabric. If you buy a thicker fabric, such as Bengaline fabric, it falls very nicely. Do you dare? There are still a few weeks to go, so make this dress and you'll be the star of the holidays!

Vogue Very Easy V9264
The sewing pattern is suitable for beginners, as already indicated in the category 'Very Easy'. The sewing pattern contains two variations in length. We have chosen the long dress, Model B. Note: you need more than 4 meters of fabric!

Fabric advice:
We opted for Bengaline fabric, purchased from www.Driessenstoffen.nl
This is a fabric that is somewhat thicker and has a length-stretch. When cutting, you have to lay the fabric down differently so that you can cut the pattern pieces in such a way that the length-stretch becomes the width-stretch.
The fabric is slightly thicker; this has the advantage that it feels tighter and pushes the bumps away a bit, as a corset would do. So it is a slimming fabric.

Vogue itself recommends using stretch velvet or cotton spandex and rayon spandex. These are also stretch fabrics with a high stretch content. As an extra information and check-source, there is a bar with centimeters on the back of the envelope that contains the sewing throne. You should be able to stretch the fabric all the way till the end of the bar. This is really important otherwise you won't get the dress on.

Cutting and sewing
When cutting, make sure that you fold the fabric in the other direction. You will need a very large table or do it from the ground. The length-stretch should become the width-stretch. Also make sure that both the front and back pieces are against the fabric fold! Sewing the dress is not difficult, there are no zippers or difficult closures.

The dress also has no lining. It is ideal to sew the dress with the overlocker and if you have a coverlocker you can finish the seams in one go.

Summarized:
Do you want to make a nice, tight winter dress for the holidays or a party? Vogue Very Easy V9264 is ideal as a sewing pattern. Choose a slightly thicker fabric and make sure that the stretch content is high!

The dress has beautiful princess lines and is slimming. You can also make the dress without sleeves and combine it with a jacket or a bolero.
