The new Chanel catwalk 2022/2023 took place in Dakar/Senegal. A location and collection that surprises me. Lots of denim,tiger prints and leather. Beautiful? Well, in my opinion the least beautiful collection so far.
And then the location? Do they really have to go on a plane to Senegal? What is this message to the world? Don't worry about CO2 emissions, we, couture-houses, will continue to 'fly in' all models/personnel/press to faraway places. In my opinion it's the moral duty of a trendsetter to set a sustainable example, as a message against waste, pollution and social inequality. Anyway, the good news: The jackets remain classics and we also see beautiful green Bouclé fabrics. And the models represent a great diversity. Bravo!
