This image is genuine — at least, the hat is.
The mannequin’s face has been made a little more “human,” though not entirely so. Still, I felt it was a beautiful photograph to share, as it perfectly captures the glamour and presence of the hat. In this blog, you will find more photographs, as well as the great secret: how this hat was made. I am often asked how I manage to gather such beautiful images for my blogs, reviews, and fashion-related articles. For many bloggers—especially in fashion—it can be quite a challenge to find high-quality, copyright-free photos. I am pleased to share my personal workflow, along with the resources I rely on with confidence.
Meet Adam & Eve—yes, those Adam and Eve, but with way less drama and way more style. (And no, they didn’t eat the apple—they’re just here to model my handmade costumes and vintage finds.)
Let’s be real: that photo is questionable, but so is life. These mannequins are my ride-or-die studio buddies. They’re patient (mostly), stubborn (always), and occasionally take a nosedive (gravity’s a harsh critic). But hey, a headless bust just doesn’t cut it—these two make outfits pop like a runway show in a thrift store. And talk about eco-chic! Adam and Eve are globetrotters without the carbon footprint. One day they’re posing in Paris, the next they’re time-traveling to the ‘70s—all from the comfort of my atelier. No jet lag, just pure versatility. Oh, and before you ask: no, I’m not actually tiny. They’re just standing on a wheely pedestal because even mannequins deserve a little elevation. (Pun intended.) In the world of photography, few accessories add as much charm and personality to an image as classic hats. Whether it’s a stylish fedora, a playful cloche, or a sophisticated bowler, these hats bring a sense of timeless elegance and character to any photo. But what makes classic hats so photogenic, and why is making them such a delightful experience?
Have you ever stopped to think about the potential lying dormant in your old, worn-out furniture? Imagine breathing new life into those tired chairs and sofas, transforming them into vibrant pieces that not only bring joy but also contribute to a sustainable lifestyle. That's exactly what reupholstering old furniture is all about, and it's a trend that's catching on faster than ever.
As a seamstress, you often create beautiful things, but there are also failures, or things you hardly wear. But every seamstress also has her top pieces. Her favorite garments and accessories that are not only successful but also masterpieces. Here you see hat and jacket from Vogue sewing patterns. My favorite sewing projects.
The final, Part 3, tutorial is online! How to make this beautiful Renaissance dress? In these three tutoturials you can do it yourself,.
The dress is a great Cosplay item for events, Comicon and fairs. And of course for photoshoots. The pictures are from Dutch photographer Erik Bolding. |
