A ruff, is a historical garment worn in Europe during the late Middle Ages and the early modern period, particularly in the 16th and 17th centuries. It is a distinctive part of fashion from that era.
The ruff is an ideal item for Cosplay, LARP events and Comicon. It is very clever designed and looks luxurious! It is also a beloved item for portrait photography. So, suddenly there is a new trend: Barbie. Isn't that a joke? Well no, not a joke, because the film is a great success worldwide in other countries. And yes, that's where the whole marketing circus starts. And you can count on it that this will manifest itself especially in the fashion world, the fabrics and the sewing patterns. Is that bad? Well... if you like it, of course not. There are also elements that are fun to pick up, such as wearing hats, accessories and cheerful colors.
In this blog: who is Barbie, and why all the popularity? An update to our blog: The best sustainable fabrics!

To find out, I’m reaching out to Laura de Vries, who showcases beautiful photos of herself in exquisite medieval garments and stylish fantasy costumes on her Instagram. I ask her about the importance of wearing a costume.
Paraded along the riverbanks of the Seine in Paris, the CHANEL Fall-Winter 2023/24 Haute Couture collection imagined by Virginie Viard is the portrait of a sensitive yet bold Parisienne. What she wears, what she reads and thinks, and her very attitude to life is reflected in the assembly of tweeds, silk chiffons, organza and inlaid lace, as the composition of floral and graphic motifs testify to the effervescence of a rich and feminine creative universe. |
