 Vogue V1562 is a sewing pattern for a chic jacket. It is a difficult sewing pattern but a fun and educational challenge. We have made the jacket in two green colors. Vogue 1562 Vogue 1562 is a sewing pattern from 'Lialia by Julia Alarcon', an original designer sewing pattern published by Vogue. It is a sewing pattern for a coat that is close-fitting, lined, has princess lines, welt pockets and an integrated belt on the back. Sewing level The sewing pattern indicates that it is suitable for seamstresses with advanced sewing experiences, in other words: 'Advanced / Plus difficile'. We agree because this sewing pattern is not easy to make. The difficult part is mainly in the welt pockets, the 'bounded buttonholes' and the sleeves that consist of three parts. For the sleeves you also have to be able to make mitered corners. The instructions in the sewing pattern will be helpful, but as always we recommend: buy extra fabric and practice the difficult sewing techniques on a test piece first.  Fabrics and notions Vogue indicates you have to use medium-weight wool fabrics, gabardine, wool crepe and double woven fabrics. Make sure you don't buy a stretch gabardine, this will not work. And make sure you buy a fabric that does not fall smoothly, but is a bit firmer and stiffer. We made the fabric from cotton twill. An ideal fabric for an outer jacket, although it is not waterproof. Sewing the coat Take the time to make this coat. If you have a deadline, start a few weeks/days in advance. It is really quite a job to make this coat. If you already have a lot of sewing experience and find your bounded buttonholes a piece of cake, you will be able to make this jacket in a short time. It is also a great idea to experiment with two colors or even with fabric leftovers. Especially because of the princess lines and because you only need a relatively small piece of fabric from each pattern part. You could even design the sleeves in three colors. Summarized
