New look 6028 is a sewingpattern published by New Look. New look sewing patterns are always easy to make, nice and modern. New Look 6028 also has a surprise in store for you: it is a great sewing pattern to use if you want to make something from all your fabric leftovers. We used this sewing pattern for our project on how to make the most of fabric remnants. We had a few leftover pieces of lightweight wool and bouclé wool, and since the colors complemented each other beautifully, we started looking for a sewing pattern that met our specific requirements. Our ideal pattern needed to feature princess seams, two-piece sleeves, an unlined design, and most importantly, a cropped jacket style. New Look 6028 seemed to align quite well with our vision, though it does have a lined construction, and the sleeves are designed as a single piece rather than two. With a bit of creativity and some modifications, we successfully adapted the pattern to create an unlined jacket entirely from our fabric remnants. This pattern is also highly suitable for making a jacket using a single type of fabric paired with a stylish lining. We are particularly fond of version A—it’s a classic Chanel-style jacket that drapes open elegantly and is finished with beautiful fringed edges. Advantages:
Drawbacks:
New Look 6028 The New Look sewing pattern is a pattern for a lined jacket with princess lines and one-piece sleeves. The jacket is suitable for the fabrics: lightweight demin, pique, seersucker, twill, lightweight wool, wool blends, jacquards, brocade, satin, linen and linen blends. You will have a lot of options if you want to choose your favorite fabric! The jacket is great for the summer as well as for the winter. Sewing level: easy The sewing pattern is suitable for the novice seamstress. We agree. The sewing pattern has no pitfalls or unpleasant surprises. Summary:New Look 6028 is a fantastic basic pattern, perfect for creating a short, stylish jacket, particularly suited for summer wear. It can also be made using bouclé fabrics for a more textured, classic look. However, adding a front closure instead of leaving the jacket open would likely enhance the fit.
If this is your first attempt at sewing a Chanel-style jacket, this pattern is a great starting point—it’s very achievable! Comments are closed.
