By Hand London sewing patterns are absolutely fabulous!

The English sewing patterns brand 'By Hand London' is on the market since 2012. The feminine casual style is eye-catching. The sewing patterns are made for all sizes, from S to 3 XL. In addition to women's fashion, there are also sewing patterns for children. We have made the Anna Dress and we are very enthousiast!
The 'By Hand London' style
As soon as you look at the sewing patterns of By Hand London, you will notice that most garments radiate a certain style. Casual, wide, feminine, casual and 'modern hip'. They are not tight suits and they are certainly not jogging outfits. The dresses are especially very feminine and summery. You could think of the hippie style but the sewing patterns are a bit more chic. They mainly radiate simplicity and sophistocation. The Anna dress has two different lengths and two different neck variations. The dress is wide, comfortable yet tailored and tight.

The sewing patterns
The sewing patterns of By Hand London are surprising in design and appearance. They come in a sturdy cardboard box. This contains a booklet for the instructions and the sewing pattern. You do not have to adopt the sewing pattern on a radar blade. You can cut it out like this (if you are sure of the size).

The booklet contains 22 pages:
  • The front page with the drawing of the dress, the sizes, the degree of difficulty (one 'sewing machine' of the three sewing machines) and the website
  • An introduction to your workplace, tools and dimensions
  • Golden rules, please read before you start The three models with dust advice and amount of dust required
  • A sizes table (Note: UK sizes are different from US and EU sizes)
  • Your own size: to measure and fill in yourself
  • The contents of the instruction booklet
  • Fabric diagrams for the three models
  • Instructions on how to sew the Anna Dress

Absolutely Fabulous
We noticed  the sewing descriptions are much fun. Example text about the folds in the front part for the breasts:

The end of the pleats should arrive under your burst, opening up almost flower-like to accommodate your boobies!

And about the split in model 1:

Move the split to the site, or try two splits - one up each thigh - how daring are you?

In short, very nice and original texts that are unique in the sewing patterns world.  The texts are normally  formal and technical. The By Hand London instructions are unique!
Cutting and sewing the Anna Dress:
The cutting and sewing the Anna Dress is an easy job. The instructions are clear in terms of text and schematic drawings. Because the dress is made of non-elastic fabric, it is wise to fit it on your body. The waist is quite tight.
The zoom surcharge is missing. We recommend taking at least 3 centimeters for this or only putting the hem in when you have finished the dress. Then you can determine the length yourself.
Summarized:
'By Hand London' is a welcome addition to sewing patterns-world. The box with instruction booklet and sewing pattern is one to love! Fun, beautiful and ordinary: Absolutely Fabulous!

And the result? A wonderful dress that can be very chic by, for example, choosing a plain or gloss fabric or very relaxed by, for example, going for a print or embroidered linen fabric. The model is perfectly spacious and tailored at the same time. This sewing pattern invites to make more often, in different fabrics or colors.
