Butterick B6747 is a sewing pattern for a classic blouse. The blouse is very basic but also stylish and chic. We have created 'a very chic blouse' by choosing a Hèrmes-look-a-like print. Butterick B6474 Butterick B6474 is a sewing pattern for a blouse in four variations. The variations are in lengths of the sleeves, the collar, the length of the blouse and with or without princess lines. Especially model B. and D. are quite basic and therefore very classic. It is a blouse to wear anytime and anywhere. For work, for special occasions, for holidays and even for a job interview! In addition, it is also a wonderful sewing pattern. Sewing Level Sewing Level: “EASY” is marked on the envelope of the sewing pattern. We totally agree with this recommandation. A beginner is able to make this blouse without any problems. The buttonholes may be an obstacle, but you can also replace them with sew-on press studs. Fabric types: The recommended fabrics are: poplin, chambray, lightweight linen and taffeta. We would like to see the list expanded with: chiffon, rayon, viscose, cotton-viscose and silk. Just make sure you choose non-stretch fabrics. It doesn't matter if it falls smoothly or if the fabric is slightly stiffer. The model of this blouse is beautiful in both cases. Hèrmes look We wanted to make the blouse very classic, so we opted for a Hèrmes-like fabric. By this we mean: a fabric with horses, saddles, bits, belts or rosettes. In the color brown, orange, beige, yellow, black and white. In our opinion this is totally chic and will make the blouse something very special. Read all about 'chain fabrics': We love CHAINS fabrics! Sewing and cutting: It was not a problem to cut the fabric because the fabric repeats itself and the design is equally beautiful from all sides. If there is a clear structure which horizontally or vertically orientated, for example, it becomes difficult to work with such a designs. It is possible, but pay very close attention to the thread direction. This is indicated by arrows on the sewing pattern sections. Sewing the blouse was great. The blouse is quite easy to make and so is the collar. The back of the blouse also has no yoke, but is just one straight back part. This makes the freedom of movement somewhat more limited. Summarized:
For all seamstresses who like simple basic and classic sewing patterns: you will easily make this sewing pattern and wear this blouse often. You can also extend the sewing pattern to your own style with other collars, the princess lines and you can vary the length of the blouse and the sleeves. A nice sewing pattern! Comments are closed.
