The box seems like a surprise package because there seems to be no end to the accessories and everything looks nice. The box also contains all the accessories and accessories that are needed for embroidery.

The manual is a nice glossy booklet of almost A4 size. The manual is made of beautiful glossy paper and in three languages. German, English and French.

The manual is clear and contains excellent drawings and explanations. However, a small side note: for a beginner it will be more difficult to understand everything. We notice that steps are skipped which are logical and understandable for an average seamstress, but for a beginners seamstress this can be tricky and confusing. The sewing machine on the Matri website is therefore rightly categorized as suitable for dressmakers of "average" and "advanced" level.
2. Preparation:
The sewing machine is easy work with. The display and the buttons are clear.
The extendable tabs / help cards that are stuck at the bottom of the sewing machine are striking. It shows all 120 stitches. Super handy! Now you do not always have to look in the manual. It is also more pleasant to see the stitches in this way than, for example, on the sewing machine itself, which would give a "busy" impression. A big plus, as far as we are concerned.
3. Threading:
The sewing machine has an automatic thread-picker. This is really necessary, especially when we use the larger "hoop" for embroidery. (The hopp is the hoop in which the fabric is secured). It is difficult to reach the needle and this is an action that will often be done, especially if you embroider a pattern in which many colors are used.
Threading the upper thread is easy and is recommended on the sewing machine itself.
It is also easy to wind the bobbin thread on the spools. The bobbin thread has an automatic bobbin thread cutter. Very easy and saves a lot of extra thread on the sewing table or in the embroidery plate. If the bobbin thread is nearly empty, the sewing machine will indicate this. That is really a super advantage, because how often did it not happen to me as a seamstress that I had been sewing for some time without bobbin thread ...that was very frustrating. So now it is indicated. Ideal!
4. Sewing:
The sewing machine has a free-arms option. Always easy for trouser legs, sleeves and fine work.
Sewing is smooth and excellent. The sewing machine makes a normal noise. Not soft, but not loud either. There is a start / stop button on the sewing machine. This allows you to sew without using the foot control. This feels a bit strange in the beginning, but especially with embroidery this is very easy.
In our opinion, the foot pedal is very light and brief. This could have been a nicer and heavier foot pedal. If the feed pedal is a bit light, we have a tip for this: stick a piece of carpet under the pedal, then it is heavier and also stays nicer.
The stepless speed controller is ideal. It feels like a cruise control in a car. Sit back and be sure that you do not suddenly go unevenly or go too slowly.
The sewing machine has an automatic buttonhole option; a 1-step machine. This allows you to make a buttonhole in one go, without interruptions. Moreover, no less than 6 buttonhole patterns are possible. Especially the buttonholes with beautiful curves at the end, are super the luxury to apply to lead or woolen clothing. It gives an extra touch to couture! Just because of this beautiful, and easy buttonhole option, you could become very enthusiastic about this Florence sewing machine!
Remarkable to mention: Twin needle, so double-thread sewing is possible and the sewing machine has an extra thread standard. Nice for beautiful decorative edges or with two color sewing.
5. Embroidery
And now to get started with embroidery. Perhaps most seamstresses have never done this by machine, although the handling of needle and thread is already known. Preparations must be made for embroidery. This is neatly described in the manual, even though, in our opinion, the manual could have been more extensive.
Fortunately, Matri.eu has made good videos that explain the process well. Visually it is often easier to pick up than to read texts and look at the drawings. So take a moment, which later pays for itself in enormous time savings by making the process easier.

Why did a stuck embroidery session happen to us?
First, it is really important that you use a suitable fabric for embroidery and that the fabric is reinforced at the bottom. Fabric that is too weak does not work. Too thick fabric either.
Secondly, it is important that you work with good yarn. Too cheap yarn breaks too quickly and that is only frustrating. Use the Sulky yarns, which are especially suitable for embroidery. They are slightly thinner, smoother and also look much nicer for embroidery.
Finally, a tip for embroidery. Do not shrink a pattern too strongly, as a result of which you have the chance that it becomes a crammed whole and the embroidery becomes much too thick compared to the fabric. And prepare all colors in advance. As soon as the thread / color needs to be changed, you can do this without getting confused. Also make sure that there is always enough bobbin thread on the bobbin so that the entire embroidery can be made in one go.
Embroidery from your mobile or tablet:
This is what makes the Veritas Florence so special. You connect the mobile or tablet and from here you can control the entire process. On App MY PATTERNS has a wide selection of embroidery patterns. You choose an embroidery pattern and the app specifies exactly which color of yarn you need to use, which embroidery ring you need for this (large or small), how long the entire process takes in terms of stitches and when you need to change color.
On the mobile you can see what is happening step by step. We have photographed this for you so that you get a nice picture of it. If something unexpected happens during the entire process (thread on or it gets stuck), this is not a disaster. Via the mobile you can go exactly back to where you left off and press start again. The embroidery program continues the process, so it is by no means the case that you would have to start all over again. Change colors or imagine you just want a break: no problem at all.
