The Pink Jacket
Pink Inspirations:
The Vintage Chanel Suit on this picture is a typical signature Chanel Design. The bouclé fabric is lined with the same fabric as the blouse. The jacket, skirt and blouse are perfectly matched and shows a very luxurious look. The skirt is lined partly with the same color but in silk fabric. The buttonholes are hand-made and the lining is quilted on the fabric. The golden chain weight on the inside of the jacket is shown on this picture as well. Last but not least the jacket has a beautiful trims which is partly the same color as the lining and made of a black binding attached on it. The suit is the typical fifties style; comfortable and very chic at the same time. Styled with a lot of pearls, big earings and leather gloves; daring and sophisticated in every detail. Inspirations to create our own Chanel-Inspired suit; the fabric colors are bold and creative. The fabric is busy but the one-color lining and the same fabric the blouse underneath; make the whole thing chic and not over-the-top bold or too daring. The black trims are always good. It balance the bold fabric. Even though this suit is from the fifties; it could easily be modern as well, combined with jeans or very sophisticated combined with a white blouse and pencil black skirt. Timeless and sophisticated. |

Our pink project:
Vogue Sewing Pattern V8804
Fabric: Pink Wool Tweed
Lining: Silk Flower black and white Charmeuse
Trims: Black/grey braid woolen binding
Buttons: Vintage Pearl/black horn
Pattern alteration: Sleeves 20 cm. longer
Size: Pattern well cut and stitched (+ approx. 0,5 cm), making it wider and very casual.
Because of the pink-uni colour of the tweed fabric; we created a bit more contrast with a Silk black and off-white lining. On both jackets and the skirt; these linings are eye-catchers. First jacket is more casual with the big bindings and buttons. The second jacket is more formal and classic with the fine black/white trims and matching fabric buttons.
Styling first jacket: White office blouse and jeans. Casual classic look.
Styling second jacket: pearls, off-white and matching accessories.
