The very easy dress: McCall's 7999

A sewing pattern for an easy-to-make dress, perfect for special occasions, photoshoots, and summer, is undoubtedly McCall's 7999.

McCall's 7999:
This sewing pattern features form-fitting pull-on dresses with sleeve and length variations. Choose between a cowl or round neck, long or short sleeves, and a back center vent or side vent.

Recommended fabrics: jersey, knit, stretch fabrics. Bengaline (with width stretch only) is also a good option. Note that due to the dress's close fit, 'rolls' are difficult to hide. A printed fabric, not too thin and in a dark color, enhances the overall look.

Difficulty Level - Easy (really easy!)

Extra tips:

• Pay attention to the length of the vent. It's marked quite high. If that's not intended, try it on first in front of a mirror, baste it, before sewing the vent.
  
• The cowl neck is very tight. Just so you know, if the dress is for summer, you might want to omit it or make it much lower/shorter.
  
• Making the dress sleeveless is also a great idea. Wearing a bolero or a cardigan over it looks much more elegant than just the dress.
  
• Lastly, if the dress is for a real party, consider choosing lurex with a glitter.
