How to Edit Stunning Product Photos with AI

For my webshops, HandmadeLuxuryHome and HistoriqueCouture, I regularly need product photos. Since I can’t afford to hire a photographer or models, I do everything myself. What do you need? Surprisingly little these days. With a good eye for photography and the help of AI, you can achieve a lot--as long as you give the right prompts and pay close attention to detail. Whether it’s for Vinted or your own webshop:

Here are my tips.
P.S. The 100% unique, silk, handmade bags are available in both webshops.

How to Edit Stunning Product Photos with AI
AI tools have revolutionized product photography, making it easier than ever to create professional, eye-catching images. One of the most powerful features is changing the background. Platforms like Adobe Firefly, Canva, or Fotor allow you to swap out a cluttered or dull background for a clean white, natural setting, or even a themed scene in just a few clicks. This ensures your product always looks consistent and appealing, no matter where the original photo was taken.

Highlight Dimensions and Proportions Clearly

Customers need to understand the size and proportions of your product at a glance. AI tools like Midjourney or DALL·E can help by adding realistic shadows, perspectives, or reference objects (such as a coin or ruler) to provide scale. Tools like Remove.bg or Photoroom also let you adjust the background so the product is centered and displayed in the correct proportions. This eliminates confusion and builds trust with your audience.
p.s. always metion sizes/measurements as well in the description of the product.

Make Details Pop with AI
AI can enhance the finer details of your product without making it look unnatural. Use tools like Topaz Gigapixel AI to sharpen and upscale resolution, or adjust lighting and contrast with Adobe Lightroom. You can also selectively brighten specific parts of the image, such as textures, colors, or key features, to draw attention to what matters most. This way, every detail stands out without distractions.

Create an Impressive Overview Image
An overview image should be both visually appealing and functional. AI can help by combining multiple products into a single image or creating a collage with different angles and details. Platforms like Canva or Picsart offer AI-driven templates and layouts that automatically arrange your photos into a professional and attractive composition. This gives customers a comprehensive view of your product in one glance.

Keep It Simple but Effective
When it comes to product photos, less is often more. AI can help you remove unnecessary elements and keep the focus solely on the product. Use tools like Fotor or Pixlr to clean up backgrounds, eliminate distracting objects, or optimize color balance. A clean, minimalist photo creates a professional look and makes it easier for customers to focus on the product itself.

Bonus Tips for the Best Results
Beyond the basics, AI can add creative effects like reflections, shadows, or dynamic lighting. Experiment with tools like Runway ML or Leonardo.AI to create unique styles that align with your brand. Always keep a backup of the original photo and save the edited version in multiple formats for use on websites, social media, or print. This way, you’re prepared for any application!
